An Expert and a Bigmouth

The title of this blog sounds like a book title. I would love to tell you this stuff like a story but to be honest I am not a very good story teller. The good thing is that if you tell me this and make a comment on anything I write then I would rather agree or disagree but I can assure you on my part that being a mature person I won’t ask you to start your own blog and then write whatever you want to. Some of the greats (?) of our society dont seem to understand this.

This story is about a strong comment from an expert Cricket and Cricket critic Sunil Gavaskar and then a slamming reply from an expert businessman Shaharukh Khan. Gavaskar's Column: http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/StoryPage.aspx?id=2d54b66f-9f21-468d-be3a-56104060cc27 SRK’s Reply: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/videoshow/4362942.cms

Let’s begin with Mr. Gavaskar. John Buchanan has proposed a theory of multiple captains in the game of 20-20 and Gavaskar severely criticized it in the above mentioned column. I personally don’t understand why you would need multiple captains. We already have a provision for a vice captain. So for me it’s not a tactical suggestion it was quite a political suggestion. KKR coach and owner are already not happy with Saurav Ganguly but if they sack him from the captaincy then they would loose all the support from Bengalis and in turn the revenue from the communist state. So the only way to sideline Ganguly is to supplement the team with another captain. If that captain succeeds in few matches then project him as the only captain of KKR. How is it? Typical Australian. Keep aside Gavaskar even Ganguly has publicly shown his disagreement with this idea. I am a well informed sports lover, I do understand the tactics, techniques and strategies of many forms of the game and I still find it really really hard to convince myself the need of more than once captain. The reason it is not convincible is because it’s a bloody dubious idea, it’s not a sports tactic but it’s a politics.

Now other part of the story. Let me take sigh :-) I love this part; I love to kick some ass when it comes to King Khan. In his reply Mr. Khan says that may be it’s not a good idea to have multiple captains but let’s try. You know for him the idea may sound like a creative one. I don’t understand why does he try to roam in the realm of creativity, he was never a creative person, he was never an artist and he will never be. That needs a huge paradigm shift; I don’t think that’s possible for him in this life time. In his reply he spoke about the huge money he has put in this team; I would say Khan Sahab don’t get angry on Mr. Gavaskar rather read the column carefully and you would understand how the Australians are exploiting you. Forget about another captain I think first you should get rid of couple of coaches and then get some good leader like Shane Warne.

They say Khan Sahab talks fast and thinks even faster than that. That’s how he got his popularity, he is smart, a real street smart guy. Not an artist, not a creative person but a street smart businessman. I agree that IPL is a form of entertainment but it’s still a sport. It has some rules and there are some age old tactics that always work. If you have problems with the captain then have balls to change it; don’t manifest your teeny tiny intellect about Cricket. Remember it’s not a Farah Khan movie and for your bigmouth it’s not a Karan Johar show. As a believer in freedom of expression I agree his right to slam Gavaskar back but I think that would be just good for his fans. Well Khan Sahab show your attitude where the sun doesn't shine, there are people in this country who have their brains and tongues sharper than you.

The nation of Ass Holes

If you are an Indian then remember Nov 26 because on that day you were brought to your knees by 20 odd psychotic terrorists. Shame! I am not only disturbed but I was humiliated, I was tortured, I was broken, I was told very convincingly by someone that they can come to my home and kill me. They can hold our women on gunpoint and rape them. They can force me to agree that their faith is better than mine and they can make me say that there is only one god, that’s their God. I kept on thinking about this, the whole day was a mess, the brain was furious, the heart was pumping and every cell of my body wanted to react. I said to myself… react, react, Omkar react.. and then came that moment of clarity and my own inner voice shouted in my brain, Omkar that’s what you and your nation are. No better than an ass a hole. A pain in a bladder makes the ass holes just react and let it go. One thing that the ass holes cannot do is to be proactive. Ass hole doesn’t guide bladder it’s the other system that guides the ass holes and the ass hole is also very happy to be such an important member of the human system. Ass hole doesn’t want to be a brain or a heart; nature designed it that way.

We the greeeeeeat(?) Indian, we cannot do anything but to react. We had reacted when British took over us. The whole freedom struggle is big reaction. That reaction was carried for 150 years. The economic boom after 1993 liberalization, again a reaction! we didn’t do it with our own proactive ness but we were forced to do it. Kargil war again the same. The Vijay Diwas that is celebrated by our very own party of jokers reminds me that we created a war for ourselves. And now Mumbai, when are we going to rise? When are we going to at least start living with some dignity?

We produce one of the greatest individuals on this earth on a regular basis. You can say we are a factory of talent and geniuses but when we are together we are the worst team and the most important reason for this collective failures is that we lack thought leadership. What we need right now is leader; we desperately need a leader; we truly need a leader with a crystal clear vision. Don’t give me that shit that together we can do this and that. Let me tell you frankly. You and me want to do something we are honest but we do not know what to do and so I say you and me we are not going to achieve much. Together we can create the Infosys, together we can bring the world cup to home, together we can build a university; these all would be commendable achievements but I am talking about building a nation and for that that we need a leader. Who is better than Gandhi, better than Tilak, better than Obama. We need some one who would look into the eyes of adversity and say that if you try to hit me then be assured that I WILL HIT YOU harder. If you try to steal my wealth and my esteem from me then I WILL MAKE YOU BEG. If you try to take my freedom then I wont fast, remember I wont fast instead I will eat my bread and will force you TO LEAVE MY TERRITORY. I respect you and everything you have and I expect the same from you. Now decision is yours. If you propose a hand for friendship then be assured that you will have my heart as well but if you want my life then be assured that I WILL TAKE YOUR SOUL.

I seek that elusive leader. We need the leader who will make us feel like a human again because theoretically we are not ass holes but practicality… ummm .. it hurts these days.
